Do you wanna … draw … a snowman? We made drawing Frosty easy with this directed drawing activity. You can pause the video at any point for kids or rewind (do we still use that word?) so kids can catch up as they create their snowman on the page.

How to Draw a Reindeer

This is a reindeer game every kid can participate in! This directed drawing Christmas activity recreates Rudolph, Cupid, Donder, or Blitzen — it’s really up to your students.

Teach Starter Teacher Tip: When you’re directing students on how to draw their reindeer, kid-friendly terms like “draw a smile line” works for the undercurve used to make the reindeer’s belly. You can also call an overcurve a “rainbow line” — e.g. the line made to create the reindeer’s head.

  We’re very excited to be sharing a fun demonstration of density on   Teach Starter   today. Even if your children are too young to really understand the concept, they’ll still love watching different layers form when you add liquids of different densities to a glass and how different objects float on the different layers. The liquids with the greatest density sink to the bottom. You can add as many layers as you want, and experiment to see how they sit on top of each other. What you need Vegetable oil Water LEGO or other small objects. Other liquids to try are golden syrup, treacle, milk, honey, colored water. Instructions Pour some water carefully into a glass or jar.
